You Don’t Have To Do Type 1 Alone

The Basal Social is a community wellness project created for people living with Type 1 Diabetes. Our mission is simple: to make life with Type 1 feel less isolating, more supported, and a lot more connected.

We bring people together through monthly community events, wellness gatherings, and social meetups designed to connect Type 1s in real life, because diabetes isn’t something we should have to navigate alone. Each experience centers around connection, education, emotional support, and the comfort of being understood by people who truly get it.

As we grow, The Basal Social is expanding into gentle, diabetes-aware wellness practices, including yoga and nervous system support, as well as in-person retreats created specifically for the Type 1 community. These offerings are designed to help people feel more at home in their bodies while building meaningful connections with others who share similar lived experiences.

We also collaborate with diabetes-friendly brands, educators, and local businesses to introduce new tools, resources, and supportive experiences to our community. From themed wellness meetups to creative workshops and restorative retreats, everything we create is meant to make life with Type 1 a little easier and a lot more joyful.

Beyond events, The Basal Social continues to grow into digital resources, thoughtfully designed merchandise, and wellness offerings built with real Type 1 life in mind. A portion of the proceeds from our products and gatherings goes directly toward supporting research and advancing the fight for a cure.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have lived with T1D for years, The Basal Social is a place to feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger.

If you’re Type 1, you’re already part of the community. Just come as you are.
